As we’re nearly at the end of 2016 I thought I’d take a look back at the past year, so below are my favourite 16 images of the year. For Over in a Flash 2016 started with a fantastic pet portrait session with Mabli and Olive in St. Asaph and ended with the brilliant portrait session with the Stuart family. Read more

A few weeks ago I made the relatively short trip to Ellesmere Port to shoot a family portrait session with the brilliant Stuart family, Jenny, Andy, Bethany and Annabel. Little Annabel was born at the end of October so she was just a day over 2 weeks old when we did the shoot. However, she was great throughout the session and it certainly helped that big sister Bethany was on hand to show her what to do! 🙂 Read more
In mid-October I took a walk with the Speed family through Wepre Park to take some family portrait shots. I did a family portrait with them when little Freya (the youngest) was just a couple of weeks old. She’s now a few months older and although I won’t go so far as saying she knew what was going on, she certainly knew how to pose for the camera! Maybe she learned it from her older sister, Grace, who was on fine form. Read more
A couple of weekends ago I was lucky enough to be asked to do a family portrait session for good friends Emma and Jonny and their two sons, Joshua and Thomas. Thomas is still extremely new to this world so we did the portrait session in the comfort of their home. However, the mid-morning sun was in full flow so we also stepped outside to get a few shots in the garden.
At the end of April I shot a cracking family portrait session in Connah’s Quay with Emily, Maria and the little star of the show, William. Due to William being very new to this world (3 months at the time of the shoot) we decided the best bet would be to do the session indoors at the family home. Fortunately the sun was out for long enough to cast some lovely light into the house to really show off William’s bright blue eyes.
Exciting news alert! Throughout the rest of this year I’m going to be organising a number of family portrait mini-sessions. These will consist of a 20 minute portrait session at an outdoor location in the area, which will be confirmed along with dates and availability in the next few weeks.
These mini-sessions will be ideal for families who’d like to update their family photo collection with some professional style images but aren’t sure if a full session is quite what they need or want. These sessions are quick, fun and the end result will be photos of your family you can cherish for years!
These mini-sessions will be subject to a discounted rate compared to standard portrait sessions. Prices will be confirmed along with all further details very soon.
If you’re interested in putting your name down on the early-bird mailing list then please send me a message (either via my Facebook page or using the contact page on my site here) to let me know your email address. By doing so you will be the first to hear about the details of the mini-sessions and will be able to book a place 24 hours before I publicly announce them.
Places for these mini-sessions will be limited (likely to be just 4-6 places per session) so it will be strictly first come, first serve.
I’ll be releasing further details very soon!
Last weekend I visited the Speed family to shoot a special family portrait session. I’ve known Chris and Kate for a fair few years now. A couple of years ago their family expanded with the birth of Grace, and now the family has a brand new addition, in the tiny form of baby Freya.
Towards the end of January I had the pleasure of doing a pet portrait session with awesome Schnauzers, Mabli and Olive. I met their owner, Ben, for an early morning walk along the River Elwy in St. Asaph. It was a lovely sunny day and I really couldn’t have asked for better conditions for a late January portrait session.
2015 represented the first full year of Over in a Flash Photography, and what a great year it’s been!
First of all I’d like to thank everyone who’s allowed me to spend time with them to take their portraits. I’ve met some lovely families and some fantastic pets and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every single shoot. I look forward to a great 2016, filled with even more awesome families, couples and pets.
