Towards the end of January I had the pleasure of doing a pet portrait session with awesome Schnauzers, Mabli and Olive. I met their owner, Ben, for an early morning walk along the River Elwy in St. Asaph. It was a lovely sunny day and I really couldn’t have asked for better conditions for a late January portrait session.

Ben warned me in advance of the session that I might have my work cut out for me trying to keep up with Mabli and Olive, and that they’re very rarely willing to stay in one place for more than a couple seconds. My main objective for these sessions is to try to capture the personalities of the pets involved, so if they love to run around and splash about, then let ’em! And run around and splash about they did 🙂

You can see from the images that the two Schnauzers are great friends. They happily played and chased each other for the best part of an hour, and from what Ben was telling me on the day, they could’ve easily gone on for another hour.

It was great spending time with Ben, Mabli and Olive and it was a fantastic way to start the new year. I hope the rest of my pet portrait sessions are as enjoyable as this one!
