The best of 2015!

2015 represented the first full year of Over in a Flash Photography, and what a great year it’s been!

First of all I’d like to thank everyone who’s allowed me to spend time with them to take their portraits. I’ve met some lovely families and some fantastic pets and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every single shoot. I look forward to a great 2016, filled with even more awesome families, couples and pets.

The Hooson Family – Chester Family Photography

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to meet the Hooson family at Handbridge park in Chester for a family portrait session. The weather in the weeks running up to it had been pretty awful so I wasn’t holding out too much hope for a change, but when the day rolled around we had a lovely clear sky to work with. Admittedly, it was about 3 degrees at that time in the morning but Darcie didn’t seem to mind too much!

2nd Wedding Photographer at Manley Mere

A couple of weeks ago I was second photographer for Richard Miller at the brilliant wedding of Adam and Tara at Manley Mere. It was a lovely dry, mild day, which at this time of year is about as good as you could ask for. This was especially important as Adam and Tara were married in the fantastic summer house by the lily pond in Manley Mere’s green picturesque garden.

Adam and Kirsty Pt II: The Blessing

A week after Adam and Kirsty’s wedding in Malcesine we had the UK blessing for everyone who couldn’t make the trip to Italy. It was another cracking day and the sun was out in full force, which was lucky because the Groomsmen’s outfits consisted of shorts and boat shoes which could’ve looked a bit out of place had it been cold and wet!

Anyway, after the blessing I got a few shots of the reception at the Chester Fields country pub and restaurant. It’s a lovely place with great views of…well…fields in Chester! It was absolutely perfect for a wedding reception on a warm summers day. Read more

Malcesine Pt 2 – The Wedding!

So, I’ve finally got round to blogging about Adam and Kirsty’s awesome wedding in Malcesine, Italy. Malcesine is a lovely town situated on Lake Garda and I couldn’t recommend it enough. Fantastic food, lots of activities and places to go. It’s somewhere I’d definitely consider going to again.

But anyway, on to the wedding. Adam is my brother and I was lucky enough to be an Usher Read more

Family portrait session with the Norths

Over the August bank holiday weekend I had the pleasure of doing a portrait session with the awesome North family! The weather was nice and dry and it was a lovely day to take a stroll around Wepre Park.

Malcesine – pt.1 of many!

So, it was my brother’s wedding a few weeks ago and he and his new wife, Kirsty, got married in Malcesine, which is on Lake Garda in Italy. Malcesine is a fantastic place to go on holiday and I’d really recommend it to anyone. There’s loads to do, both on the lake and around the lake in general. More importantly there’s also loads to eat! As you’d expect from an Italian holiday. We can definitely say we made the most of it…the food that is!

Anyway, this isn’t a long post but I just wanted to give a heads up that there’ll be a fair few pictures being posted of our time in Malcesine, leading up to a blog post about their fantastic wedding day.

For now, here’s a picture I captured of angel rays peaking through the clouds just before sunset. Not a bad view…

Archie & Ellie – Pet Portrait Session

Double trouble!

Last weekend I shot a dog portrait session with two amazing Weimaraners, Archie and Ellie. These are beautiful dogs and they seemed to have a lot of fun on our hour long session, I think this definitely shows in the final images.

Christening and Portrait Session with Rosie and Family

A couple of weekends ago I was asked by Rachael if I could take a few family shots at her daughter Rosie’s Christening as well as portrait shots of Rosie on her own. The Christening was at St. Deiniol’s church in Hawarden, which is definitely one of the nicest churches in the area.  We had time for a few quick family shots outside the church but, as is the case with events like this, Rachael and the family had to shoot off to get to the reception venue.
